The Master of Science Data Science Network Intelligence specialization track is especially suited for creative problem-solvers who want to use data strategically to advance the ICT society. We are cultivating a new type of quantitative thought leader who uses computational strategies to generate innovation and insights.

Telecom SudParis (France), Asian Institute of Technology (International University),  National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), University Polytechnique of Bucarest (Romania), University of Calabria (Italy) jointly offer a unique international curriculum at the Master's level addressing key issues in Data Science and Network Intelligence.

Objectives

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) approaches, well know from IT disciplines, are beginning to emerge in the networking domain. Recently, networking has become the focus of a huge transformation enabled by new technological and economic models resulting from virtualization and cloud computing.

These techniques provide novel architectures supported by emerging technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and more recently, edge cloud and fog.

Career Perspectives

The demand for professionals who can interpret large quantities of data with a deep understanding of telcos and webcos has never been greater, and these skills are vital for scientific advancement and business success. Graduates could take up roles such as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, Consultant, Network Engineer, … in industries such as telecommunications but also finance, e-commerce, education, healthcare, media and many more. Given the program's solid foundations, students-acquire both an in-depth theoretical background and practical knowledge. It only takes a few weeks for graduates to find their first job and most graduates are hired before graduation.

 

Partnerships

Students attend the ICIN international conference. In addition, World-renowned experts from  Orange Labs, CISCO, Transatel and ETSI are invited to give lectures during the year. English is the language of instruction and courses are taught jointly with MSc students from University Carlos III of Madrid (Spain), Asian Institute of Technology (international), UniCal (Italy), and National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan).

 

Target students

Students holding a Master 1 degree or equivalent academic level (240 ECTS) can enroll directly in the Master 2, follow the 2 semesters program.

Students holding less than 240 ECTS may be admitted with a 4-month additional lab work or industry internship. Upon completion of this program, graduates will receive the MSc in Data Science and Network Intelligence from Telecom SudParis (accredited by CGE).

Recent graduates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level with an exceptional academic record, as well engineers and professionals who wish to upgrade their knowledge can apply for the Master 1 (taught at the Asian Institute of Technology), then join the Master 2 at Telecom SudParis. Students who graduate from two year program taught in English will receive TWO Master’s degrees, one from Asian Institute of Technology and one from Telecom SudParis.

The curriculum for this program is as follow:

  • M1 program semesters 1 and 2 are held at AIT (optional for students having a Master 1 level academic background or having significant and relevant experience).
  • M2 program semesters 1 and 2 are held at Telecom SudParis. Semester 1 provides specialized coursework. During semester 2 students either write a Master of Science thesis or conduct a paid internship in industry.

  • Master Thesis and/or paid internship in industry

Official transcripts, degree certificate and/or completion certificate for Bachelor degree and Master’s degree (if applicable). Minimum GPA varies depending on the program.

Direct admission to the M2 program: Students holding a M1 or a Bachelor with at least 4 years (240 ECTS) may apply directly to the M2 program. They will be required to carry out lab work or an internship. 

 

English proficiency requirement

For programs requiring English language proficiency, the minimum level is required for admission: CEFRL : B2 level

For partner students, an official language proficiency certificate from the home institution is accepted.

Students who have completed a higher education degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD) taught in English from an accredited institution may be exempt from the English proficiency test score requirement.
