Admission to the doctoral program

Télécom SudParis

Telecom SudParis students enroll in two doctoral schools of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. The degree issued is "Doctor of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris".

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris is a public higher education and research establishment that brings together five French engineering Grandes Écoles: École polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Telecom SudParis.

The combination of these schools within the Institut Polytechnique de Paris enables to provide top-level doctoral training, reflecting the excellence of the founding schools that have chosen to join forces.

Telecom SudParis enrolls its PhD students in two doctoral schools:

  • The IP Paris doctoral school (n° 626)
  • The Hadamard Mathematics doctoral school (n° 574)

IP Paris doctoral school (n° 626)

The IP Paris doctoral school hosts around 900 doctoral students, supervised by more than 800 teacher-researchers (including 550 HDRs) and grouped together in 30 research laboratories (including SAMOVAR) with a strong scientific impact.

These laboratories cover a large spectrum of disciplines and offer a high national and international reputation and recognition for their researchers and associate professors.

Hadamard Mathematics Doctoral School (n° 574)

The aim of the Hadamard Mathematics Doctoral School (EDMH) is to bring together all doctoral training in mathematics within the scope of Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Polytechnique de Paris, ranging from the most fundamental to the most applied mathematics, including mathematics at interfaces (in particular with economics, computer science, mechanics, physics, engineering sciences and biology).

Two pathways to a doctorate

There are two ways to earn a PhD from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris: the classic three-year PhD track, and the 5-year PhD Track, for holders of a Bachelor's or Bachelor's degree who already plan to pursue a PhD after completing their Master's degree.
